We spoke you asked if Ayn Rands philosophy had any relevance. I believe it does. And yes we do have morals. I believe I do.
Ayn Rand’s characters are extremes at two ends of a continuum. All of us do internalise those character traits to differing extents depending on our mental make up. Moving beyond Rand, her brand philosophy has existed in different forms through the ages. I guess she gave it her unique slant and introduced it into the mainstream.
Why do we do what we do? because we can, because it gratifies us. Frankly when you break it down those are the two most important reasons.
well one thing with Rand's pholosophy is that she writes in Black and White so many ppl in this so much varying world find that philo unacceptable or unrealistic...
anyhow that was not the point..the book had a great impact on me, though at many points i couldn't agree with her and i guess at some other points i could not get her...but still she gave me a lot more than that...
and not every one can appreciate that philosophy...we have Peter keating for an example that she gave herself...

Ayn Rand? Thankfully most of us grow past her 'philosophy' by the time we complete puberty. Unfortunately, many do not.
Chantabbai, taking that to the extreme, the world sucks. So why live?
