Election results

I sat in front of the television, ready for the counting. The opposition was expected to win comfortably, and the ruling party expected to be drubbed completely. However it didn't start like that, the parties were going neck to neck, with the opposition slightly in lead. However after half an hour, it was clear that the opposition was winning comfortably. They ended up with a two third majority. The question in the TV Channels shifted to who will be the CM. The 83 year old politician, who started his career in 1940s was everybody's choice.

Since I was in Kerala on May 11th, I was following the results of Kerala State elections. VS Achutananthan, the 83 year old CPI(M) leader did become the CM.

In over 60 yrs of politics, MK has had just two complete terms. Not a great record.

This time, he'll die during his term.

asok,

i meant no party winning absolute majority

coaltition govt is not there in place 'coz DMK played it well...

afterall, after 50 years in politics, this old man should be smart enough to do it..

ram, we were correct about nobody winning majority. But I guessed wrong for the smaller parties - Congress, PMK and the Communists. MK sure knows how to play in the field.

Ashok - it is good to be old in Indian politics :-)

I - never underestimate the old man
