இன்று சுந்தர ராமசாமியின் கவிதைகளைப் புரட்டிக் கொண்டிருந்த போது கண்ணில் பட்டது இந்தக் கவிதை

நீக்கமற
-----------
கண்விழித்த போது
மனதில் அந்தக் கவிதையைக் காணோம்
நடுநிசியில் அது குமிழியிட்டபோது
குறித்து வைத்திருக்க வேண்டும்
அப்போது
மனத்தின் அடிவானத்தில்
கவிதையின் விண்மீன்கள்
கொட்டிக் கிடந்தன
நுரை பொங்கி வந்தன அழகின் ஆழங்கள்
விடிந்ததும்
வெறிச்சோடிக் கிடக்கிறது மனம்
அவ்வரிகள் மீண்டும் வரக்கூடும்
ஒன்றில் எனக்கு
அல்லது உனக்கு
கவிதை வரிகள்
பார்க்கத் தெரியும்போது
இல்லாத இடம் இல்லை.

1994ல் எழுதப்பட்ட கவிதை.

On waking up
that poem wasn't found.
When it bubbled up at midnight
should have written it down.
Then,
in the expanse of mind,
verses like stars,
were strewn around.
Depth of beauty came forth frothingly.
At daybreak
the mind is blank and empty.
Those lines may come back.
If, in something,
either I
or you
can find
poetic lines
then there's no place it is absent.
