Erich Segal

There are books that dazzle you, stun you and deeply disturb you. And then there are books that we read again and again, just for the plain comfort and pleasure they provide with their familiarity.

Erich Segal's Love Story and The Class are amongst the books I read again and again. They might not rate as great novels, but those are the most read books in my collection.

Thanks Mr. Segal, RIP.

hmm...he was my favourite while at college, and i ended up reading all his work('Doctors' being my favourite)...i am not sure why i liked his stuff though (maybe just the simple clean writing with true to life characters)...

I admire your bravery -- I haven't read Love Story even once but even if I had read it 10 times, I think machismo would prevent me admitting it public.

Read over and over for me would be some of PP's stories.

Totally agree with you Chen.

Segal was a glorious phase for me and he continues to be a favourite comfort read. The Class would be my favourite too though each book has its gut wrenching moments.

S - every one has his own list.

Frissko - I liked Doctors, but felt that the end (alternative medicine and stuff) was too contrived. Acts of Faith was boring.

Anon - I am past the age and stage where I have to drop names like Marquez and Borges to appear machismo. By the way, is PP for Pudumai Pithan in Tamil?

Lavanya - As soon as I read the news I thought of you.

Sorcerer - Yeah, lot of people do like his novels.

PP புதுமைப்பித்தன் தான். Borges, Marquez எல்லாம் படித்ததில்லை, *மீசை சுருக்கி* ஆனால் காதல் கதையும் படிப்பாதில்லை...
