50,000 km in a year

For the last one year I have been travelling between Chennai and Tuticorin by train almost every weekend. That is 1300 km per week, more than 50,000 km in a year. Nothing unique about this statistic, just felt like putting this up.

they should have a frequent traveler program which then gives you the privilege of putting a golden tag on your bag and also makes you eligibile for free upgrades to first class!!

There is still some distance to go before statistics catches up with you. So live until then.

Anon - Indian railways has a frequent traveler program, but that is only for AC coach travelers. I am thrifty / cheap, I travel by Second class sleeper.

Nilu - thanks for the permission.

So, how many books have you read during your weekly commute? Just curious.

Googly - I normally get 2-3 hours before they switch off the lights. I must have read about 20 books, mostly tamil.

Chenthil, that should have made you travel weary or I guess by now you would have taken it in your stride. Just an aside, have you read Vannadasan and Vannanilavan ? I tried getting their books but looks like it is not easily available. I could not get much in AnyIndian or New Booklands apart from Krishnan Vaitha Veedu by Vannadasan.

:)...This reminds me of a friend who commutes from Pattabhiram to Sholinganalloor to work everyday. That's 100 km a day, 500 km a week, and he has been doing it since 2000!!...That makes it over 192000 km!!...
