Paritrana - A new political party

I read about the new political party Paritrana formed by some IIT graduates, in Rashmi's blog. Many people had pointed out that this was similar to what happens in Maniratnam's movie Yuva / Aayudha Ezhuthu. I thought may be these guys are idealistic enough to believe that they can make a difference.

But when I read their mission statement
The objective of the party is to resuscitate and restore the great traditions of Bharatvarsha's glorious Golden Age based on the eternal values, and to transform Bharatvarsha into a prosperous and powerful nation, and reestablish Bharatvarsha to its rightful place in the world as 'JagadGuru'.
, the words "Bharatvarsha" and "Jagadguru" made me see red.

Pray, why should India take its rightful place as a "Jagadguru"? Aren't other nations equally bad or good like us? And what is this about glorious Golden Age - back to the Manu Smriti days?

Good thing about the Indian Democracy is, the system is so setup that such attempts will not flourish. I realise that there is no point in getting worked up over this.

Anons, thanks for your visit. It would be better if you leave your names too, I am no Biswanath Halder. I am not for Rahul or any other dynasty.

Ashok, you are talking about Parikrama?

Nastigan, thanks for the support. Though I don't take any readers seriously nor do I expect them to take me seriously :-)

English August, read the interview. Still I hold on to my views.

Deepa, I am not able understand your comment.

Hey Dabbler :) ,

It seems that u have been reading the mission statement skipping words.. did u miss "based on the eternal values" next to "Golden Age", i think that is nothing to do with Manu smriti,.

so after reading the interview u still hold on ur view!..

u have given two point view in ur blog .. and the interview erases both!..

Bharatvarsha might just be the right word as if they would have used HINDUSTAN then u would have called them religious fanatics!..
and INDIA is.. ( i dunno what is the origin of that word.. is it brit's?)... so second point..

Being a Jagadguru might be too far, but Mission statements are always about achieving the unachievables!. right?.

so wait and watch!..
feeling nice after writing to u..
have a nice day!

problem with guys like you is if the nation is in a bad state then also u have a problem .... if somebody dreams of making it the best nation u have problem stop being a critic ...
whats wrong with being "jagadguru" ... it's just the concept of standing out of the crowd and showing the way to others ... dont u have any ambitions dude ...
the mentioning of golden age is refers to the golden age of knowledge ... i dont know what u have comprehended from those words ...
newaze ... I feel elated after posting
cheers

Vivek, I appreciate your powers of reasoning. And I am happy that you feel elated after posting a critical comment. Do visit often.

I think this Party is here to stay, So instead of Discourage them with ur worthless lazy and Negative commnets, Please support them. Good Luck Paritrana.

We Indians have been good at this, haven't we? Pulling down people even before they can prove themselves?(viz comments on Paritrana) And putting people in GOD's place even before they can actually prove that they are here to rule?(viz. Tennis sensation Mirza, with all due respects for her) For those who passed negative comments on 'Paritrana', and even commented that the name sounded like a desi Rock band ... must have been listening to a lot of Parikrama ... let me tell you our society definitely needs a revolution to happen ... and if it starts with Paritrana, I am with it. Apart from Yuva, Rang de basanti has also been made on a similar theme - "REBEL" ... violently or non-violently is ofcourse at the individual's discretion.
Best wishes to Paritrana ...
Regards

AS A RESPONSIBLE CITIZEN I REQUEST EVERYBODY TO SUPPORT PARITRANA.
PLS"LETS GET RID OF PRESENT POLITICAL CORRUPTION".
I THINK IT IS POSIBLE BY PARITRANA.BEST OF LUCK.

Ok, all of you anons and not so anons - I am fed up with your comments here. Let me say it bluntly, the mission statement of Paritrana reads some thing like Nazi Propaganda to my unenlightened eyes. That is why I think they are not so goody good and are bound to fail in this diverse country called India. No more responses from me.
