Completely drained

Have you ever messed up on the job beyond belief? When your client has lost time and possibly money because of your inefficiency? And you feel helpless because things are not in your control? That's what I am feeling now. Big mess.

This is not the first time I have screwed up in my job. But earlier I used to be a minor cog in the wheel and the managers used to soak up the pressure. But now, I am the manager and there is no where to hide.

Hopefully the one day trip to Nachandupatti will revive me. If you are unaware of the name, it is the village well known for being the birth place of the famous potato seller and truck owner Chenthil Nathan :-).

Take it easy, Chenthil. These things happen to one and all! All the best! :)

Chenthil, No exceptions. We all screw up. Might sound kiddish but I would prefer to read Garcia Marquez when completely drained. he's a magician

Thanks people for the concern. The issue ended without any financial implications, but knowing that I could have done it better hurt me. For some one who takes pride in his ability that was the hurting part, not even the consequences of failure.

Nilu, I sell things to ships for their crew's consumption and consumables needed to run a ship. It means everything from meat, vegetables, provisions, engine spares, literally anything. This profession is called ship chandling and since it is difficult to explain that to people I put it simply as potato seller

pretty cool....

and how busy a port is Chennai? - just wondering again because I somehow thought Madras port hardly had any traffic...

For some one not in India, you are well aware of the happenings. Madras port is pretty slow, Mumbai is almost dead. The major ports for us are Vizag, Kandla and Paradip. We have offices at all the ports, Chennai and Mumbai are more of stocking points
