If you expected a review of the movie Revenge of The Sith, sorry. This is not a review. I was just wondering if I am the only one in the universe who hasn't seen any of the Star War movies or hadn't heard about Darth Vader, Jedi Knights and Anakin Skywalker. For the past few days many blogs have written about the movie and related stuff, and I felt like an illiterate staring at books. The reason might be the towns I have lived in so far, given in the sidebar of this blog.
I hardly see movies, and in these towns English movies generally meant only Porn Movies. The English movies I saw during my school days were Gandhi (since we got concessional tickets for school children), Omar Mukhtar (Since my dad was working in Libya at that time, I wanted to see what sort of country it was), Beautiful People (it was more like a documentary on African wildlife) and that's it. After coming to Chennai I have seen a few popular movies like Titanic, Notting Hill, etc and the movies that came free with the VCD Player like Mrs. Doubtfire, Point Break, Independence Day. So whenever I see English Movie discussions in blogs I visit, I run away scared. Maybe it is an acquired taste, I am yet to acquire it.

I ve come here thru lazy's blog quite many times. The one that always struck me was the superb template u r using. This is not in the standard ones provided by blogger i suppose. I ve seen the similar template in some blogs hosted independently (i mean, not by blogger).
Any pointers?
Hi Srihari
This template was taken from http://blogger-templates.blogspot.com/
This template is called Kubric for Blogger.
Thanks a bunch!!
If it's any consolation, some of us are missing out on the porn movies ;^)
you can count on me... I too haven't developed so much interest in watching English movies eventhough I used to watch some good movies in the flights, during my business trips.
Going to the theatre and watching an english movies.. may be sorts of Spiderman, Son of the Mask etc., just to apeace my son.!!!!
Chenthil -I live in Boston and still don't consider myself "illiterate" because I have not seen star wars. Just couldn't care less really!
I don't think we are obliged to see all the cult moives the popular culture imposes on us.......
stay cool man. and Oh we ahve Omar Mukhtar in common.....
OJ, ;-).
Ram.c,glad to know that I have company.
Tilo, agree on that. Omar Mukhtar was a hit in India, though I still don't know why. Most of us who watched it knew next to nothing about Libya and Italy, but felt ourselves rooting for the underdog.
Chenthil,
Not an Englishmovie, but check out 'Il Postino' (The Postman) - Italian. Hope some of the DVD rental places in Chennai carry this movie.
Very well made movie. You being the literary type you might enjoy it even more. Pablo Neruda, the Chilean poet, figures prominently in the movie (played by a French actor). I just watched it over the weeknd and thoroughly enjoyed it.
